The state of happiness in simplistic term is the consequence of when reality matches expectations. But both reality and expectations are relative in nature and both in the ambit of ones own mind. Our mind and the world as we perceive it is in a state of flux, constantly changing and evolving. This evolution, this change is critical and important to our state of happiness. Change lets us perceive and better understand ourselves and the environment around us. This change makes us push ourselves into the state of awareness where we know the consequences of each step we take. Greater awareness leads one to define ones purpose and leads to satisfaction without stagnation.

So constant change in our thinking is important to be happy. This change in mindset is possible when we are exposed to different environments. It lets us compare the different states namely: How we were, How we are presently and hence better decide how we would like to be. Constantly moving towards how we would like to be is the purpose of living. The evolution in our thinking is measured by how far that state (How we would like to be) is from the present state. Or reworded more correctly in context with what I am writing- How far that state (How we would like to be) is perceived by us.

If it appears too far then we are either being too idealistic, not aware in the infinite opportunities which surround us. If it appears too close then we have lost faith in ourselves, not aware in our infinite potential. Greater sense of awareness helps us better determine our future and hence give ourselves a sense of purpose. Sense of purpose brings us happiness for it lets us live our life in the future and present at the same time.

In other words we perceive clearly how the present state of ours would lead to a future state that we would like to be in. Happiness is the consequence- A sense of satisfaction without Stagnation.

Its vividness engulfing me, no matter how far away.

So true, so pure, its genuineness indescribable in art,

Let’s all be blessed with a true friend, no Mirage! J

I march on gripped by the tide with nothing much to feel,

Bent upon not to loose focus and never to loose my zeal,

There she comes out of thin air with her disarming smile,

Like that morning dew on flower which brings warmth to the eyes.

A simple smile that which evoked my energy within,

Leaving me confused as in where to begin,

Refinement and panache I consciously try to hide,

Those innocent eyes making me loose all my pride.

My mind hypnotized loosing no moment of your friendly gaze,

Words impossible to decipher, its music putting me in daze,

Caught up in the chores I shall always find the time,

To see the world the way you see it, instantly turning my heart jocund and sublime.

O simple as it sounds, immaturities do have meaning profound,

My path gets hazy with your tenderness holding me aground,

The love that I see a child demand, I am humbled its unforgiving truth,

Love seems so simple I wonder at times why it leaves me bemused!

I decided to pen down my feeling and present it for you to see,

So that u may appreciate and assess the person you have sculpted out of me.

Pursuit of perfection is a pointless indulgence dared by very few,

But I have been on its tail purely driven by what I see in you,

The world that we understand is a perception – an effort to make some sense

A matter of choice rather than of absolute existence.

And you have been a part of every painting I have created,

Supporting me and encouraging me to believe them to be masterpieces.

Many times I think of love, of sacrifice, of selflessness, and of trust,

And I never have had to search long cause I see them embodied in you,

You have created benchmarks of these powerful terms,

Helping me appreciate and start loving the person you believe I am capable of.

What have u given me and made out of me I sometimes gauge,

In short you have helped me take responsibility for the choices I have made,

I wonder sometimes how come the word “MOTHER,” means the world to me?

It all boils down to your trust engendered self-reliance, which has set me free.
